Clarkstown to take care of foreclosure lawns

The other day I was showing a property to a client, that happened to be in foreclosure. Although the house was in good shape, the outside was in desperate need of help. The grass had not been cut in weeks, and the mosquitoes were enjoying their new home. One of the neighbors came running up to me asking what can be done about the yard. Since I wasn't the listing agent, I couldn't offer her much advice, except to call the town. Well, 2 days later in the Rockland Journal News, there was an article that discuss just this problem. The article said that the Town of Clarkstown, will be maintaining the 20 properties that are currently in a foreclosure status. Not every town is taking this approach, so those who live in Clarkstown, should be quite pleased with this news. Not only will this help eliminate the mosquito situation, but it also will not detract from the houses in the neighborhood. Way to go Clarkstown!
