New Chef at Hudson House in Nyack
Betcha didn't know about the new Chef at Hudson House. That's because as Matt Hudson said the transition was so seamless. I knew once I read the menu. The items are clearly a different take on food and very welcomed!
On Thursday night the restaurant was packed! So we grabbed two seats at the bar and ate dinner with Andrew the acclaimed best bartender in Nyack. We ordered the warm Caesar Salad, the braised short ribs and the gnudi. And all were delicious ---- the Caesar Salad was tasty, had fresh white anchovies on the side. The heart of romaine was wrapped in bacon and then I think grilled....it had a smoky flavor...the bacon was a welcome addition. The Gnudi were divine --- tender and tasty --- like the heart of a ravioli but much more delicate served with brown butter, chestnuts....The braised short rib with smoked beets and toasted faro was also a nice surprise --- tender, flavorful, my only wish was for more sauce.
I can't remember the new chef's name but he has worked at Freelance Cafe in Piermont, Restaurant X in Congers, and at Crabtree Little House in Orange County and I'm looking forward to trying his new menu again soon!
