Start your St. Patrick’s Day celebration early with Nyack’s own Sean Fleming on Friday, March 4th. Part of the library’s highly regarded Carnegie Concert Series, “Songs and Stories of Ancient and Recent Ireland” will get you in the mood for the  wearin’ of the green. Fleming was born on the shores of the Lakes of Killarney. He began his career in Irish dance halls, and toured the US with his first band,The Rocketeers Irish Showband. He and got his first big break when Merv Griffin chose him out of a studio audience to perform on his show. He has toured all over the US with the Irish Tourist Board; owned a bar in New York City for a time (where he performed, of course!); and appeared on many radio and TV shows, including the PBS “Out of Ireland” series. Sean Fleming & Friends start the show at 7 PM, and it’s best to call ahead to be sure you have a seat! The library’s main number is 845-358-3370.
