Palisades Community Center Manhattan Short Film Festival

The Palisades Community Center, located at 675 Oak Tree Rd. Palisades, NY, is a wonderful resource for local residents who want to take advantage of classes or to attend events.

A special event is taking place this Friday, Oct. 2 at 7:30 pm. Its the Manhattan Short Film Festival. It is part of the 18th annual International Film Festival and will feature 10 short films selected from 678 entrees from 52 countries. Tickets are $20 in advance, $18 for PCC members, and $25 at the door. Wine, beer, and snacks are included. For more information and to get advance tickets contact

The fall calendar is now available, so for those of you who may be interested I'll share some of the information with you.

On Tuesdays from 4-6 they offer Youth Sewing Classes and on October 12, Columbus Day, there will be an all day sewing workshop from 9am-4pm. If you'd like more information you can contact Vivian Burns

Also available are Adult art classes and karate classes.

The October events calendar will be available and will include a coat, food, and pet supply drive, on Oct. 18, and  the annual Scarecrow and Pumpkins on Oct. 25.
