It's been a couple weeks now and the close quarters of sheltering in place have created shorter tempers, lessened patience, and increased worry. I don't know about you, but humor is my antidote
Nyack Has It All
I just had the most marvelous weekend here in Nyack and the most exciting part of it was the 4th Annual WALKING TO THE BEAT festival. It was a joyful experience full of sound and thunder, color and wonder. I was toe-tapping my way up and down Main Street and on and off Broadway! From Nyack Park to the Nyack Center and on up to the gazebo at Main Street there were all sorts of interesting musically and visually mind blowing experiences. I especially enjoyed the drumming circles and jams and For Vibrations cool, cool vibe. The restaurants and other venues were engaging in lots of brisk business as the people roaming the streets in packs, looking for the next best thing, enjoyed the beauty of the day and the delight in diversity of experience. It was such a pleasure. And just to let you know, the pleasure doesn't stop there as there are many and continuing musical events occurring throughout the Nyack area all summer long. Great award winning jazz at the Hopper House in the Garden- tonight- and I think every Thursday. I believe that Eric Lawrence and his band is playing tonight- great jazz, with a New Orleans funk sound, I am going to get there as soon as I am done with this blog!. Tuesday nights in Nyack Park will be full of sound and fury with great local musicians revving it up and taking all of us up a notch. I think that there will be another Annual Short Film Festival- A friend of mine has entered her short (3 minute) film with an amazing, really hot song about Indian Point into the Festival offerings so I can't wait to see that! For more information regarding all of this really happening stuff, go to the village of Nyack's website.
I also had the pleasure recently of dining outside at Joe Printz's new wine bar- restaurant, Bar D"Vine in Sparkill and it was, quite simply- fabulous. Every mouthful was perfect and bursting with exactly the right flavors for what the dish was presenting. EVERY MOUTHFUL WAS PERFECT and so incredibly satisfying and absolutely crazy delicious! I can not offer words of praise high enough- suffice it to say, you had to be there. So go! Go to Joe's restaurant Bar D"Vine and go forth further still and enjoy all of the wonderful venues, restaurants and experiences that this area of Rockland County puts on summer display- like a gorgeous peacock with feathers fanned and shimmering showing off!
Growing up in Rockland County and being a 3rd generation realtor, it was important for me to continue the "Coyle & Coyle" family tradition of real estate. I understand the importance of professionali....
